The only track I felt didn't belong in there was Dorset Perception, and not because I thought it was a bad tune, but because the use of gating filter sweeps makes for a more energetic feel....and I've come to associate that style of sound manipulation with the full-on psy. Full-on, this album is not.

Watching Cars Go By was excellently placed, it finally broke the monotony of Burma and was a good stepping-stone to On My Own...it upped the tempo (I think...not positive) although it was still 8bpm below On My Own, but it also brought back the distorted guitar elements that were stripped away. It also introduced vocals back into the feel, again priming us for On My Own. Makes it less of a shock, going from Burma to On My Own. In fact, I would even argue that Burma and On My Own are so far apart that any one track placed between the two would have to act as a buffer of sorts, and would in turn take the most flak for being "out of place."

I still listen to Involver almost everday, had it since it came out, just can't get enough! I just wish he would play some of it live, I love Youngsters - Smile, I would kill to hear him drop that!!

well i know the limited edition came with notes about each track and what he did with them, maybe it says something on there about the track selection??

decent build up through 2 tracks and you're thinking "ohh it's gonna hit!"
and then it doesn't and comes with this track that might have killed you and then starts over building again

basically it's like a girl wanking you or sucking you off or riding your cock and just as you're right about to blow the big one she stops... and then picks up again when she's given you time to calm down

I love involver, but I didn't the first few times I listened to it. Sashas song choice, effect selections, etc are not something technical that can be described... it's just a quality of sound that flows or doesn't. Just something that sounds good to one person or doesn't. I really got into the cd after listening to it on a long car ride straight thru, I think that's the only way I could have really appreciated the progression of the cd the way it was intended. Like is said many times above, there isn't a way to explain why you find the 3'rd track a mood killer, I think it works well for the mood myself and it probably sounded great to Sasha.

Involver sounds so great....cause its a mix of prog/house. Sasha gets enough time to mix his stuff in. I guess thats the reason Y we dont see PVD and the gang making stuff like involver....time matter!

the unkle/petter mashup sounds great in my opinion. the transition from dorset perception into these days goes together perfectly. don't you think that the mashup fits the overall chillin mood of the album? personally the only song i would have left out is watching cars go by. god i hate that song. "i want want want to make you happy." so freakin annoying.

-edit- in retrospect i guess the only thing I disliked about involver is how little he changed half of the tracks. a lot of them sounded a lot more like spiced up re-arrangements than straight up remixes imo. take for example dorset perception or burma. and yes, he did pitch up the tempo from watching cars go by to on my own, as well as little tempo speed ups throughout the album i think.
