Hellz no!

I dated this guy when I was 18 who loved those guys...a little too much...

He drove a white sunbird with white letters on his back window saying, " Nothing Else Matters."

I know those guys are pretty popular...just not my kind of shit!

it wasnt load and reload that did it for me as a metallica fan -- it was the damn self-titled or black album. what a sellout album! that was the turning point of metallica when they went from a metal band to an alt rock band.
they still do kick alot of ass -- saw them this summer and the summer before and their show was amazing when they werent playing new crap.
but black is still known to all metallica fans as the one they sold out on.

Well many hardcore fans felt "Black" was the sell out album, while others said it was a different tune and page for the band to step on and achieved a mainstream audience that appreciated the hard and heavy sound of Metallica. The problem I see, is that the Black album was produced by Bob Rock, also known as the mainstream heavy rock God of the industry. His touch is always apparent in anything he does, and as a producer hes just that good at doing what it is to make a classic mainstream album. Regardless, Metallica and Rock had made metal into so Here's the thing I found with Loaded and Re-Loaded is that they kept with the Bob Rock style of Metallica (most likely due to the fact they sold most albums ever with him), and instead of showing the fans something new and creative in their new style, they decided to stick to the formula of Black and rinse and repeat with even worse songs than Black, the music had truly lost its colour and energy. Fortunately they continued on to make S&M, which is one of my favorite CD's to listen to sometimes.

So whether you believe either one of those three albums was the start of selling out, atleast "Black" was a bad ass album, worthy of listening to. If only they left it at Black, they prolly would of been remembered as perhaps one of the most classic rock bands of all time. This isn't really a defence for Metallica, cause they did in the end "sell out", but I still love the Black album. "Nothing Else Matters" is one of my favorite songs of all time.

That was their last best album...
For some reason though I've seen them live 3 times ...before and after Napster. Last time was when they came to The Skydome and Linkin Park Kicked Their BUTT!
