Check out rates on travelocity or expedia. Doesnt mean you have to buy there but its a good tool to use for comparison. Try direct from buffalo or try JFK airport in NYC. Sometimes when they put together an itinary online its more expensive than if you fly yourself to NYC and get your own connection.

Jetblue airlines www.jetblue.com will get you from Buffalo to NYC return for around $100 US including taxes if u book early enough. From there you can fly anywhere pretty much half the price than from Toronto.

i remember paying airtaxes on discount flights there too .. but never recall it costing more than the ticket itself ..
