Yes they sell well for the people who call dj sammy techno but I don't see this compilation being any different from their previous attempts, which is just wack a ton of big tunes, put it on commercials and try to sell a shitload of copies. MOS used to be amazing, I used to love their compilations, look at Trance Nation with Ferry from years ago, then Ferry left when MOS tried to control him. I don't think this compilation offers anything new to the already over populated shelfs in stores, that are falling down under the weight of crap compilations, mixed by anyone with a set of turntables. I do like the "Call on Me" song, call it a guilty pleasure I reckon but still, I don't see this being any different from the previous outings. MOS = Ministry of Shite and until anyone tells me otherwise, I'm sticking to my story.

i agree. the new MOS, compared to even recent 2000 MOS, is crap trance (if you can even call it trance). but one has to appreciate the fact that MOS markets their products unlike many labels that don't for whatever reason (not enough money or marketing department?) and this marketing is actually benefitial. IMO MOS is just pop trance for the mass-market, but some people who will listen to MOS will eventually become more knowledgable and support more critically acclaimed artists and realize that MOS is really tripe. so is see MOS as basically expanding the market for trance. to me its a bigger plus than a negative.

chances are that thh original thread starter probably never listened to trance before MOS.

DJGrizz1082: i'm curious did you listen to trance before the MOS cd? how did you hear about MOS? how long have you been listening to trance?

Valid Point, I think MOS was a great label and club but then they just got greedy but they have made great inroads into the American Market of late. You think it is a bigger positive, I don't because I'm tired of people just grabbing as much coin as they can from a scene and not doing anything for it. Yes Capitalism gives you that right but the scene was around before MOS showed and will be around long after they are gone. I think you should help the scene at times but we do differ with our opinions. MOS is just a cashcow for certain artists that rather go commercial, then they sign the track to every other compilation going. Same cycle, same result.

why do you have to be guilty
thats one of the problems of the scene, if its uncool to like something then a lot of people won't
well...'cool' people
as long as its not the infamous dj sammy

you're right though MOS are a sham
a few years back they made good albums, well some good ones anyway
these were advertised and i bought them

now they just release the most commerical bullshit
while i say 'commerical' that might suggest that i dont like stuff thats not underground...bollocks
when i say commercial i generally mean pissy house music for the masses and cheese cutter trance
...and people try to insult asot

some of these prog listeners would cry if they heard MOS trance

MOS was kickin back in the day. Now it is just over-advertised tripe.

does it really matter if MOS is "commercializing" trance music. trance was made to be enjoyed my listeners and not for a selected few who can apreciate all the underground compilations. as long as people can enjoy the tunes, thats all that matters. if you think call on me is crap, well than you are entittled to your opinion. i happen to think the track is catchy and i enjoy it, and thats all that matters. i can switch my tunes from something like MOS's clubbers guide to some Cox or some Howells. some may think that MOS sucks and ruining trance, but they are just making reaching out to different listeners. as logn as more peopel are lsitenign to the music, then its a step forward.

How can it be a step forward, if MOS are just making the quickest buck out there and then running to the bank. I don't see how it helps anything, MOS are not putting their heart and soul into anything anymore, it is just faceless now. That's why they went crap

MOS have always played whatever is most popular at the time, and recently that just happens to be utter crap. It was no different pre-2000, the only difference is the mainstream dance of the time was much better than today.
