Legend aside, that place is an absolute gem when it comes to culture and history, as they still speak Aramaic there and have some of the oldest churches in the world (150 A.D.) I still remember attending mass there given entirely in Aramaic, and buying a rendition of the mass on cassette. They need to protect these sites dammit, especially from all this graffiti bullshit |
