various clubs (even ones that TAs frequent) actually do this so it's not atypical at all

low move.

That was hardly the case last night. The problem is that there was over 1000 in line and the club was at 90% of it's capacity therefore the line was just not moving. The guestlist was a little overboard and many people who were on the list weren't able to get into the club.

I believe that all the kinks are going to be worked out by management. I also know that they actively participate on this board and will be addressing the concerns many of you had last night. I am also pretty sure that those of you who were not able to get in will be taken care of for future events!

had to wait outside for 40 minutes when we got there at 2 (for the trance) some girl came out and offered everyone in the line starbucks coffee which was a nice touch. once we got in though my friend and i were very disappointed at the ridiculous amomunt of space available in the club -- it wasnt even 50% full and they made us wait outside for 45 minutes!
the club looks amazing, sound system sounded damn good, lights were absolutely sick but the resident dj -- walter rosatti was it? -- played some pretty bad trance. it was waaaay too soft not the kind of trance that will keep me dancing and bouncing off the walls until all hourse of the morning. finally left at 415am when there didnt seem to be any hope for the trance getting any better.
the underground parking fee was quite insane -- 25 bucks but then i guess thats what you pay to park at john and richmond right underneath the club
all in all the club looks sick and i will most assuredly be there when they get a good dj on the decks. i dont even think walter rosati gave the system a near complete workout he needed to add like 15-20bpm to the trance he was spinning!

I think the club is Great! the design, electronics and lighting RAWK! As for the crowd - it is to be expected that the ratio would look a lil' something like this;
45% - Gino 45% - Gina - 10% TOTA

Over all , I was there preopening night and the sounds was a lil' low only b/c people had to talk over the muzik, and we wouldn't want that , would we!? Anwyays... Sound improved over the course of the evening.... b/c the social butterflies left!

I really liked the bathrooms~ but everyone looked like they expected tips? oh well! what can u do when yu live for yur shoes!

Apart from all that - is is a new freakin' kick ass club! nice bar views (if ya know what i mean!)

I can't wait to see a big headliner like John Double oo FLeming there! that will be mint!

Schmatta!

I waited in line for about 7 minutes or so in the VIP at 10:30 (walter told us to show early, good idea). Got in and it was at about 50%. reached "full" by about 11:45 or so. (i noticed it wasn't getting any fuller which was strange cause there was plenty of room)

Lil Pete played a good set though. Was nice to here some kicking commercial house. and Peter finished harder when we were there.

Was nice to see Bo(n his TINY girls) & Dom show for a bit. (Filo & Peri).

1st off, Little Pete & Peter Ivals were the only 2 dj's in the main room last night, w/ivals taking over close to last call.

2nd, I dunno what your definition of trance is, but not ONE SINGLE trance song was dropped last night. Little Pete played an enjoyable set of current dance anthems, and Ivals had a more underground feel.

Generally a great opening night last night. Yes we did hit capacity at around 12:00 and was forced to do an "in and out" policy. Being our first night we had a huge turnout early and an excessive guest list to deal with. Every body was generally good about it but the front of the club did get extremely busy even with two doors. To all who didn’t get in I apologize and I will personally send an invite out... you know who you are. The doors did slow down and where manageable after 1:30 so for events like Johan and JOOF it may be easier to come after 1:00am since they do go on around 3:00 or later. I will post the details later this week.

Oh... I didn’t play last night at all...
So Tatgirl is right... little to no trance

Yea there wasnt really any trance, but I really did enjoy the house music, even though it hardly swayed into the real stuff and stayed in the commerically viable parts of the genre.
Nevertheless highlights for me were Flashdance (as always) and *cough*cough* Nightcrawlers! Hadn't heard that in ages!

Anyone check out the Hip Hop room? the pushing, the shoving, the looks goin back and forth there, it was like a fight almost NEEDED to break out...!

Nice club though, I thought it'd be alot smaller from the pics, but turned out to be a pretty spacious for what it was.

and yes, the lighting set up was quite impressive
