I try and take care of my records, but I've gotten some in new that are a bit warped. Kinda shitty.

Also, Tommy that's an awesome find as well. Wish the Vinyl stores would take Timski's idea about buying one and charging per use.

If I won the lotto, I'd definitely invest in this item. But $2k is a bit much. But I guess there's nothing else like it in the market so they can charge that much.

Hopefully some other companies will pick up the idea and make some of their own flattening machines, and once theirs a few going around the prices should drop. Now that would be nice No more of watching ur needle surf that oncoming wave every two seconds.

Pretty damn interesting djshtr.
Again if I had the cash, I might get one of those tables just for a conversation piece.

This is probably the most entertaining thread i've read on here in a while. No bitching or anything, it's great!

But back on topic..

The only problem you'd have with charging people a small amount amount to get their vinyl flattened after buying that thing (as in creating a service..) Is that it takes a few hours per LP.. So effectively you'd have to buy a few if demand ever increased a little..

It is a very cool device though..

one of the worst feelings for me is buying an awesoem record, online or at a record shop and taking it home to play and finding out its warped to the point its unplayable. $2000 is a lot though. Record shops should look into those for sure though.

If i had money to throw around no doubt about it i would buy one. And maybe charge people to get their vinyls flattened to slowly make the money back

Sounds like a good idea, especially for stores. Some of my vinyls are slightly warped.

Also, speaking of careless maintenance and vinyl warp issue, many vinyls that you buy, especially off the online stores, come warped. Some just warp over time for no reason. I take a great care of my records, but there are still some warped. Also, for some reason, the best records get warped the most.
