I personally dont have anything against the phatties... I used to rock a pair in my full raver days... the ones i wear now are still "phat" just not as full on more a comfort/cooling issue now... besides there still massive in the rave scene so i just leave them.

Now i just find it funny to watch all the colourful little ravers... talking about the glory days of 6 months ago... up there with the muzza's as something to have a bit of a laugh at.

I have an older pair of more "dulled" down phatties that I wear around the house and the pair I wear out look pretty cool in the lights.

I used to wear massive pants back in my raving days. 5,6 years ago, I was all about big pants. The bigger, the better. It wasn't all about the reflectors, or cartoon characters stitched on the side for me, but size was definately the way to go. I remember my biggest pair flared out to 36" on the bottom, that was freacking bigger than my waist! I could stick 2 soccer balls up each leg while wearing them, and a full sega genesis system with 4 games & boxes or 6 rented videos in the back pockets. They were huge. But since raving is no longer cool, I've taken it down to a modest 22". there's nothing wrong with them, I just got tired of flapping in the breeze when I was walking down the street.

i guess reflectors doesn't serve any purpose except for accessorising. and i don't think you can wear them in broad daylight without people giving you nasty look. if we're talking functionality, phats are more comfy to dance in, yes, but only when they were made with lighter material, especially when you dance a lot. lots of pockets are useful to store mobiles and what nots. nothing wrong with wearing normal jeans except they can be really sweaty sometimes.

some girls do look hot especially when they dance very well in them .. shame that almost none does..

Yeah, definately a better experience to dance in. Especially if you're going for long periods of time. The extra room combined with the movement of dancing creates a cooling effect making it easier on the joints. However, heavier materials come in handy in colder climates [ie Canada at -10 in january] as they'll keep you warmer when you're in line.

And as for girls looking good in those pants. Oh yeah...Very nice look if the girl know how to dance.

dont worry about them, they will get over it and start to accept phatties. they were never a problem anyway to me never even thought about them much really. AT LEAST THERE NOT SHREDDED TO PIECES!!!!!!!

its actually mostly melbournians that wear them. have seen a few peoples in canberra wear them but no-one in sydney or adelaide. dunno about perth, but its mostly associates with melbourne in australia
