what is your defintion of life??

why did her parents ( the persons who gave her life) want her to live???

They were selfish and they didn't want to have to deal with the grief of losing their daughter. They even stated that if they had to amputate her limbs and keep her alive they would. IMO they were sick, selfish people.

That's just my opinion, though.

for selfish reasons, however well-intentioned. you've basically answered your own question. her parents would obviously seek to keep their offspring alive. while her husband, the one who knew her much more intimately sought to do for Terry what he knew Terry would have wanted.
