My review of Darude's set @ VIDA Nightclub (01.04.2005)
To anyone who didn't give Darude a chance...it's a shame you missed out on a great set! I wasn't sure what to expect...I was blown away! In spite of the limitations of the venue's sound system, Darude played one of the most bangin' trance sets I've heard this year in DC...outside of GLOW! Not long after I made it to VIDA, Darude started off his set with some tech-trance! I was nicely surprised when he dropped Armin vs. M.I.K.E. - Intruder...that was sick! I don't recall hearing too many other tracks from Before The Storm or Rush...except for Music. Another surprising aspect of Darude's set was some of his mash-ups! My absolute favorite was his mash-up of Next To You and Ton T.B. - Dream Machine! As to be expected...Darude dropped Sandstorm at the very end! As much as some people hate the track...I can never get sick of it! I was disappointed that after two hours, it was all over. IMO...Darude deserves a better venue next time he's back in DC!
I had an incredibly amazing time! Then again the combination of Baltika #9 at home and the 3 Red Bull/Absolut Mandrins made the night a little more interesting...

Just for the record, it was my third city and forth gig of Darude/Dallas Superstars for the past three weeks. Reason - just love thier music. It's addictive.
I made up my mind about coming down to Washington, DC 7 hours before the Night. Cab - plane- hotel. I walked to Vida at 11.00 pm and heard familiar sounds coming from the upstairs. Hessu!!!! I knew it.
Vida?! Vida????? it's the worst venue i have seen Darude. Neither this place nor the crowd were that great. But bad place can't spoil the talent and great music can't spoil the night.
