I've been to nearly every provincial park in Ontario. All have their own special charms...

So far, my favorite is Bon Echo...
Great view for photos/drawings, enough hiking trails to last awhile (I went on all of them, including their longest one, which took my buddy and I around 7 hours to complete at a moderate pace with breaks and all). Did a fair bit of kayaking too. Only complaint, the beach...

This year, Killbear and Pinery are on my must visit list.

The pinery outside of grand bend is a pretty sweet spot.
You have to be careful when you go though because sometimes they have alcohol free weekends and will kick you out in the middle of the night if you get caught.
If its a normal weekend though its a lot of fun, and grand bend is great in the summer.

(and i'm pretty sure there's a third beach nearby but we've never been)

lots of campground area around

Wow I'm shocked you said Bon Echo Provincial Park...usually know has ever heard of it when i talk about it. My best friend has a cottage on Mazinaw lake (same as the park) which i've been going to for the past 18 years of my life. I love it, it is the deepest lake in ontario, besides the great lakes and the "Mazinaw Rock" goes exactly the same height above the water as it does below almost 400 feet. A great place to hike around and get lost on, as carney and I did this summer, and almost ended up scalling down the front of the rock... TERRIBLE!

Yah, whenever I try to tell people about Bon Echo, I get puzzled looks. Although it is one of the more popular spots for artists. Some trails can get somewhat confusing (like the long one, going around the 3 small lakes), but the one on the actual rock was fairly easy to navigate. Hated the snakes though. Lots of deer. Taking a kayak out, stopping by the rock for lunch, jumping off of it, now that was fun!
I'll probably go back for a weekend this year (spent a whole week 2 years ago).
