Technically the best dj is Danny Tenaglia, love him or hate him, he is quite possibly the best technical dj on the planet because he is so good at what he does. You could also add John Digweed to that list, love him or hate him as well, he is certainly very good technically. Adam Beyer will round off my list because he is so good technically as well, he just plays so well without many mistakes.

Top ten would probably be (in no real order): A-trak, Roc Raida, Swamp, Kid Koala, Radar, Richie Hawtin, Cut Chemist, Mixmaster Mike, Jazzy Jeff, Rob Swift, Mista Sinista, Jeff Mills, Q-bert, Dopey, and, of course, my main man Z-trip.

Okay, so that's more than 10...couldn't help myself. There's a lot of good ones that are too close to call.

Just to re-iterate: this is just technical skills, right? .....I'm just checking. Because if that's the case, then no trance DJ would even crack the top 1000.

Mr. James Zabiela gets my pick. I think his technical skill in scratching and the effects he adds to tracks (Especially the way he does it) is some of the best in the world. Eddie Halliwell is another one who can scratch like nobody's business and also alot of the hip hop DJ's like Grandmaster Flash and Jazzy Jeff. Sasha & Digweed are two DJ's that rarely train wreck, their beat matching and transitions are just great (Please don't give me that smart ass "Yeah Ableton that's great beat matching" crap). Daft Punk are a duo that simply blow my mind. Utilising two turntables, a mixer, TR-909 and a laptop and they just do amazing things (Jeff Mills is another one who does this to me using the same equipment). Finally the three turn table wonder, Carl has been around for ages so eh has alto of experience and rarely if ever train wrecks and does it with three turntables.

For all your pants-creaming affection for Zabiela, Sasha/Digweed et. al.....they don't even register as moderately impressive among the best in the world.

I never compared different styles, I just named 3 deejays off the top of my head who were very good technically, meaning they don't tend to trainwreck, they tend to beatmatch, very very well...and so on and so on.

I give it to Zabiela the way he abuses the cdjs is just so sick sometimes, and damn the boy can scratch too. Also yea the DMC champs and the X ecutioners technically own any edm dj that ive ever heard

xpress 2 is pretty impressive utlising up to 5 tables at once. I think the best technical dj is either Zabiela or Sasha there are few people in the world who can hot remix songs like sasha can while still mixing and spinning and dj set simply very impressive.

but Ishkur, you know that DMC is the daddy but still we have a spot in our hearts for how good deejays that never did DMC are technically. If we did go by DMC, Mixmaster Mike and Q-Bert would be the kings, they still are. DMC is a totally different ballgame and I dare A list deejays like Zabiela or others to enter it. Tony De Vit who died in 1999 was a legend, he came 2nd (3 yrs running) in the DMC. The question was not whether it was DMC, it was simply what deejays do you rank as the best technically and you know that will bring a helluva lot of questions.
