Haha, Auto-BPM huh, so Beat-Matching never got so easy? Well that's what they say, but if you ask me... Auto-BPM are for beginners yes, and especially for those who are amatuers. When I first started DJ'ing I used to use my mates and hire Pioneer DJM-500s, Huge Mixer with not just AUto-BPM but effects and all... To tell ya, back then till now, Auto-BPM stuffs you up more in the mix, it is like cheating, if you use Auto-BPM in a club or where-ever man I don't call that DJ'ing. DJ'ing comes from the meaning Beat Matching, because beat matching is a challenge, and if you can beat match & beat mix, then your a proper DJ, if you can't do that and you need Auto-BPM, then your not a DJ at all unless your a begginner.

Yo I think a beatcounter is allright but usually it does not work.( Because it does not pick up the right beat or so.) I have a beat counter on my mixer. In the beginning i was looking at it but now I am ignoring it. I dont even see it. It is much more fun if u can mix two vinyls with the most primitive tools. Using a beat counter is cheating. And like others have already said if the venue does not have one you are in trouble.

I had an experience once with a similar problem with headphones. My first dj performance. I had a lot of trouble with it because i had never done the monitoring and the cueing with the left ear in the headphones and the right one in the room method. I had a nice thing on my mixer at the time that I could use with out taking my headphones off. Since that performance I have only been practising with the Left-Right
method and now i dont have those problems.
Same with beatcounters if u cant do it without them then.....!!!!! I say use beatcounters if u want but you should know what risks u r running. One day you will fall.
