Yea I actually thought Ken Clarke would have at least made the Tories reach out to more of the public but I think he was too pro-EU for them to swallow!

@Smiley: Thanks. Very interesting.

But more than 50% of people voted for someone who prior to the election said that they would pursue a Labour government. That's the beauty of several layers of representative democracy

the tories are the biggest shit talkers we've ever had, privatising everything then complaining now because they are. If those bastards get back in power i'm cutting my balls off & mailing them to michael howard, forcing him to eat them

On a side note, some of the polls are looking a bit worrying for Blair and Labour....Tories seem to be right up there with Labour...

Not at all.

The biggest conservative swing in the polls right now would still leave Labour with a majority around 100, and on the other end of the spectrum some polls even suggest a swing for Labour against the Conservatives.

Well im reading the Sunday Times poll today and they say Labour on 36% of the vote and the Conservatives on 35%.....so hardly a landslide with only a 1% difference and over 2 weeks till polling day....they say that with the 1% difference Labour should have a 50 seat majority....but the Conservatives have gained over 1% in the polls in the last week....so anything can still happen...but i still expect Labour to win...by what majority who knows...and i suppose it depends on what polls you are reading as some of them are quite different some say majoritys of 150 seats others say 50...personally id like them to be a bit more clear cut with not such wide margins...but hopefully they are correct.

This is my first elegible general election, and I'm going to be voting Lib Dems so if hell freezes over, they will get rid of tuition fees. I hate being in debt!

Labour have kept a stable economy and solved some poverty, but social order, tuition fees and Iraq are just wrong wrong wrong!

And all you guys point to us as being selfish. It seems to me that leftists still look through their political views through what they think behoovs them the best in their current state, in this case ending tuition fees. Hey dude if you want to be successful yeah if you don't have to pay tuition fees its nice now, but you will be paying that for a lifetime in higher taxes. Vote Tories. Remember UK was being compared fucking 3rd world countries before Thatcher took office, take a look at how much better economically you guys got after she took office.
