[Bah.. I hate it when the server gets all laggy. ]
You seem like a smart fella. Maybe you should actually take a look at what each system offers, before you make rash judgements.
Both xbox and gamecube are better than the PS2, it's a fact. Granted, while playstation can use old psx games, dvds, rip mp3s..the cpu is rather difficult to program, giving the deveolpers a harder time to make good games (this is what happened to the N64..) This might hinder its competition in the long run. Nintendo has nipped that problem in the bud, creating a very programmer-friendly console, at the same time offering crazy smooth graphics, nil loading time, plus options for further hard-ware add-ons. xbox..heh..while it is the most advanced system, it's gonna fail, I think. Even if it is only because no one needs TWO computers in their house. The games for xbox are going to be sick, though, I'll give it that. But I can already play those on my computer. *shrug* Whatever. We'll see, I suppose. The idea that gamecube is for children only is silly.
Metroid Prime, Perfect Dark Zero, Resident Evil, Tony Hawk 3, Rogue Squadron, Soul Calibre 2, Batman Vengeance, Bomberman (Yeah, baby!), Starfox, Legend of Zelda, Turok, a slew of RPGs to be announced, Smash Brothers Melee, Bloody Roar Extreme, Phantasy Star, Sonic the Hedgehog.. my god.. it just keeps coming. Good luck Sony/MS yousa going down.
my .02 dollars.

true true, but i think he means specs wise, and that is also true.

sort of true but not entirely. the n64s problem was its cartridges, and the fact IT was geared more to kids. it was somewhat difficult to program for, but not as bad as saturn or anything. it just didnt push more polys than psx, but had more effects. and the ps2s CPU is pretty straight forward actually, its slower than the 733mHz pentium in the xbox, but only in numeric designation, its a RISC chip meaning its not that much slower than the GC or xbox...BUT it has less bandwidth for transferring textures and relies heavily on dual vectoring units, which make it a bastard to program for. and i bet they still havent figured out how to use both of them fully yet, so things are only looking better from here...plus you know there will be great games for SONY and nintendo, so you really cant go wrong in choosing any of them. i also dont think that GC is a kids system, like n64 -sort of- was. just cause its cute and japanese on the outside doesnt mean the software will be also, cause i bet Rare will release a Conkers BFD2 and that def wont be kiddie! late/
damn video games, how can i know this much about this stuff and get Ds on my Swedish tests. i wish learning a language was as easy as vegging out in front of the TV...
