If your scared to do it, don't try it.
I've been opening amps, mixers, turntables, since 14 years
old (Now 25) Its a simple job, but, if you feel your not
up to it, take it to a repair shop, and let them do it.

this happened to me like a month ago and I was just as choked as you.
Anyway, what I did to get the plug out of the mixer was take the broken part that came out and put it back in. You kind of have to push it and rotate to make sure those metal things go where they're supposed to. Once the plug is (semi) back together, carefully pull it out. This might take a couple tries depending on how fucked your plug is, but it should come out.
Now I dont know if your plug is repairable but with my mdrv700's I just threw anothe Unimatch plug on from some old mdrv300's, hopefully there's that same type of deal with yours.

The first thing I did was try that.. it did fit. But i didn't twist like you said. and then when I pulled it out same thing happened. Anyway the thing is stuck deep in now.. and its kinda wedged too.. that must be what caused it to split when i pulled the plug out. theres a friggin wedge in it.
Try using a jeweller's flat-headed scewdriver to push aside the two springy contacts inside and turn the mixer upside-down! Give it a shake and it might just drop out. If they're too big, try straightening a paper clip and doing the same thing.

its not the two contacts that are stuck. its the 'penis-head' front part of the plug that is wedged inside somehow.. i'M gonna unscrew the lid again tonight and see what I can do..

Dude.
Your waisting your time.

You need to replace the whole thing. The headphones socket is
sealed. It only has one opening, and, the pins are blocking the
path to get the "penis head" out.
I talk from experience. Save yourself the trouble, and, just
replace the whole 1/4 inch Socket.

Broken Penis-Head
What I was thinking was that the contacts in the jack are keeping the broken penis-head inside the headphone jack unit. If you push the lower one aside, it may allow the broken piece to move if you invert the mixer. Then you would try to push the middle contact aside while the mixer is still upside down and try to shake it loose and out. It's the lower contact that may be holding it in place. Don't try to stick the rest of the broken plug in there; it will only force it in more.

( ) Broken penis-head
Or you may have jammed it past the last contact deep into the headphone jack, in which case you may be screwed.

yup.. i jammed it in deep last night. and its impossible to take it out without taking the whole jack apart.
as someone said, use some glue to the end of a headphone jack and stick them togeather, pull it out, my suggestion would be to buy a cheap pair of headphones (the ones you can get for £5 for walkmans) and use thse.
