BTW, come to think of it, didn't Highmay leave about an hour or so into Three's set? I guess if that was all I saw of Three, I'd probably would agree with him about the set sucking. |
no, i said goodbye to you at 4:15 when i left and all you said was "ok good bye...and post..." in your broken, barely coherent english...

Re: Re: DJ Three was a dissapointment last night @ Sully...to me, at least...

Have you taken up smoking crack? Honestly, Three's first hour did suck balls. However, everything past that was quality stuff. Anyone I talked to said that it was one of the best Sullivan Room parties this year, if not the best. I guess if you went in there expecting epic trance, you probably would be disappointed. Just because a few tracks were recognizable doesn't mean that the entire set was bad. The room stayed packed till the lights came on. I guess no one who closed it out had any musical taste. |
that's funny because that was a running joke back in high school..."yo highmay, you sucking on that glass dick or what?" anyway, yes his stuff was better as the night went along, however with his first hour sucking shit, the bangers seemed anti climactic and forced since it was already music we've already heard, like you had to dance because we were supposed to, not because it was there for our indulgement as it should be...that was longest run on sentence ive ever typed out in the history of my life...and it was a pretty late arriving crowd so its not like they heard his entire set, which i did until i bounced...
best party ive been to at sully this year was tronic treatment...of course youre gonna disagree, you actually run the party...anyway, it was one party, of coure there will be others in the future and im more than certain that theyll be a lot better than this one and ill have a better time then...
but until then, DJ Three was a dissapointment this time...

were we at the same party?? i thought three ripped it... i got there waay late (got dragged out of bed actually) but caught the last 3 hours of his set-- he went til 5:30... he mixed it up with tech house, electroy funky breaks and straight up bangin' techno.. had the crowd dancing and screaming til the very end when he closed with (get this) eurythmics "like lovers do" (and dedicated it to his girlfriend...how awesome is that?)...
anyway cielo was pretty good last night. marcus james (opening dj) played very proggy vocal stuff, then chable took to the decks around 12:30... started off very melodic and progressive and mixed into very techy shit and ended off with some bangin progressive track to set it up for dave. nice transitions but mainly just straight blends. the left speaker kept cutting in and out so it was a little annoying (maybe because i was right by it, haha) but it was a good set overall.
dave seaman tore it down for sure... he had a very dirty techy sound and it got a really good crowd response.. i had to leave early so i don't know how it all went down, but the party was happening around 2-2:30..

yeah i had a better time at cielo, dave seaman and chable both banged it out...there was trouble with the speakers during chable's set and the volume kept going up and down and one of the corner speakers kept blowing out but that got all fixed...seaman was great but he didnt own me and my future offspring...i guess i need some misstress barbara in my life...
