you can certainly buy a pair for 99 cents at quickie mart but those foam/plastic type 1> don't lower all frequencies correctly and because of that, they not only 2> distort sound immensely but they actually 3> don't protect your ears against the type of noises that can Really damage it, which are high frequencies. So even tho you think that they're being protected because the actual 'sound' is lower, you're not fully.
Furthermore, because of the fact that we, as clubbers, live for and love GOOD sound, it would be helpful to invest in earplugs that lower all frequencies equally as opposed to foam ones that mostly just muffle the highs while not protecting sensitive inner ear organs so we can still enjoy every element of the music we love to listen to while knowing we're not fucking up an organ we take for granted.
Also, if you can't spend a measely $15 on protecting a vital organ of your body that we as clubbers expose immensely on a weekly basis, then that's pretty sucky for you. you shouldn't put your hearing in jeopardy because you wanted to pay so little to protect something so valuable.
soon i'm gonna get myself a pair of custom made earplugs.. they run $100-150 but they're made specifically for YOUR ears (mold and all). |
+1
all earplugs are not created equal.
good earplugs lower decibals equally.

I support your intentions but if you look at the pic below they look exactly the same.

Frequency this frequency that......I was a mechanic in the Air Force for 4 years and I know all about protecting your ears while standing 10 feet from a Fighter Jet with two cranked engines. The foam ones suck and don't do shit but never did I say.."go buy the foam ones" you can totally get a pair that will do the job for a few bucks.....not $15. So you go aright ahead and trick yourself into their little conspiracy and blow more money than you have to. That's like going to the grocery store and spending a few extra bucks on cotton swabs just because they say Q-Tips.
