2 years I beleive. The cut off date was the episode where the one guy left. If you were on that episode you signed over your creative life for 24 months.

Same thing happens every year. One of the better singers gets voted off in 4th or 5th place, and they end up with contracts anyway.

This show is getting way out of hand, the first and maybe second season was good cuz it was a new concept but nowadays it just plain sucks. The finalist are not even that good and to boot the only career I've seen take off was Kelly Clarkson, everybody just faded into the background. The only person on the show that was entertaining was the infamous William Hung. Now that was funny and worth watching

I admit it. I bought William Hung's CD. I haven't bought any one of the Idol's CD's except his. Except he wasn't an Idol. But it's awesome. He has a little "thank you" at the beginning and everything. If he can make it, that gives me hope for the future.
