i haven't seen this yet but i didn't think TCM remake was that bad compared to the original after seeing it i watched the original and it was a rather clumsy low budget affair
i thought the new one wasn't neccesarily a great film, but the scenes in the basment etc i thought were really well designed. it made me think what kind of movie silent hill could make
i also rented Wicker Park over the weekend, thinking it was like some suspense thriller, but it was more of a quirky chick flick...like a good chick flick...sorta like Lost in Translation. anyway, has anyone seen it? it's like one of my favorite movies now. i loved it.
yea i actually really enjoyed Wicker Park. thot it'd be some cheezy romantic movie (although it has bits of that in there) but it turned out to be quite a strong and deep movie. nicely cinemetagrophy at times and i enjoyed that it was filmed in that weird 'memento'-reverse kinda way.
as for the amityville horror...i haven't seen it. but...(and i hope i'm not disillusioning anyone here), but read this article on more of the background story.

i agree with everything u said.
i saw the original amityville a few months ago cuz my bf rented it and it was scary, but like u said it was very low budget and just sort of OK. i wasn't that impressed. but the remake had great effects and definitely made it a scary movie, but i've still seen better.

That was a good movie. I really liked it.
Don't think I'll be watching Amityville. Probs watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind..again. Does that movie remind anyone else of Mullholland Drive?
