that toilet looks too nice for the vancouver EDM

i think the reason why vancouver clubs will not be like ones out in TO is because clubs in toronto are the actual party promoters. they arrange for DJs to come, they promote the night, etc, etc. so if the club doesnt get the people, they lose money. here, from what i can tell, clubs normally get money no matter how well or bad the promoter does. therefore, clubs out in toronto get bigger crowds because it is in their direct interest to bring in as many people as possible

i have realized something. many promoters in vancouver are trying to go after other guys for personal reasons. it is no longer about the music, it is all about being thought of as the best ===> the mucho attitude. so until some tempers can be cooled down, feelings healed and and differences reconciled, we are stuck with a rather shitty scene

^^^ There aren't any venues to throw parties at!!!

Any attempt at holding a liscenced all night event costs a rediculous amount of money and just isn't worth the investment. I'm not sure what the scene is like in Toronto, but I reckon there are a lot more venues suited for doing electronic nights, later closing hours etc. It's not so much a problem with the promoters IMO as it is the by-laws/closing hours, lack of venues etc.

Hmnn... I always work Saturday nights anyways. Just so long there are decent tunes on the nights that I have off (Monday, Tuesday, and sometimes Wednesday and Friday), I'm happy.

I am sure that you guys have all had a chance to check out Viva and I know it has a history. Try and come out sometime and see whats going on, we are open to a number of different ideas and concepts, so if anyone has any, let me know.

As for the Trance scene out here, it is definetly sparse so its good to support others whenever possible, we would be more than happy to support in return.

hi, you look new here
care to introduce yourself before promoting your night?

Hey there,

Sorry apri_peel, just getting involved in the conversation. DJ Jaspa, Producer and DJ from the Burnaby area. Been DJing for about 4 years and producing for about 12! Didn't mean to step on anyones toes, just trying to get along with folks and do our thing. After all, its all about the music.
