hell yeah, best mixer around IMO... it's basically got the effects of the djm 600 plus loads of extra stuff, filters like the a&h (admittedly not as good, but the filters on the xone mixers are unbeatable), sound quality somewhere in betwen the two (nearer the a&h end) and... it's all upgradable via usb, so you can get new effects when denon write the software for them, plus improvements to the processing algorithms etc. seriously recommend having a look at it

I use a Denon dn-x300. Although quite featureless, i think it's a solid mixer. When I started beatmatching, I wanted a good mixer without all the knobs and dials to confuse me. When I decide I got my beatchmatching up to grade, then I would upgrade to a more versitle mixer. I guess I'm crawling before I walk (kinda)

Hmmm, I don't know because I've only had a chance to mix on an Ecler Nuo 5 which is currently eclers flagship mixer so I'd guess that it would be better in terms of output quality to there lower priced model (smac 40)

I still think you should put the effort into getting an Allen & Heath

Heard about this before. Sounds interesting and if it all works smoothly its a nice feature if you ask me!

I started out with a Denon dx400 19 inch mixer which I was extremely happy about. i think I paid abotu $329 for it. There's also the step up...The 800 which is also solid.

I personally think the Ecler mixers are priced to high as the output quality lacks a bit. Comparing Pioneer and Ecler I would go for the pio because there both on the same level in terms of output quality (except Ecler's mixers being priced much higher)

you do know you cant hear the eq changes in the cue and monitoring positions though right.... you cant hear you change the EQ in your headphones? Thats a major dropdown for me. I was going to get that mixer but then i decided on the DNX which i am absolutely happy with. The sound quality of that mixer is great..but will you even hear that quality in your bedroom in the little 14x14 room lets say? You wont hear that great of a difference unless youve got quite the space adn quite the equipment of showing the mixers ful potential in sound.

The EQ monitoring issue is a negative point I must admit... the 92 has a post eq function on the monitoring system. Even when I used the 62 I just used to turn the channel up a bit instead of an eq... Soon got used to it with no problems. Actually I think I prefered it because you could monitor your beatmatching through the headphones (hearing both tunes playing at the same level) than through the system if your incoming tune was at a low level on the fader, gain, EQ's etc. while you were bringing it into the mix.

In terms of hearing the sound quality I think thats a pretty silly statement. Speakers and systems are a different ball game. Firstly why would you spend all your money on a quality mixer without taking your current home speaker system into account? Either way the Allen & Heath will sound better on budget speakers or a big system compared to some other mixers. Example, when I got my a&h mixer I could immediately hear a clearer, crisper signal coming through my fairly cheap mission loudspeakers. The pioneer I had before sounded quite muddy compared to the xone, aswell as the ecler nuo 5 which ive also had running through the same speakers. No doubt the allen & heath does sound more amazing through a bigger louder system, but doesnt electronic music in general sound better at louder levels?

I wish I had the chance to mix on a denon mixer, am genuinely interested in hearing the output quality!

You are right about the speakers m8 but generally most people cant hear the full beauty a mixer has to offer because they are confined in such a small space like their bedroom. I have shitty speakers. Honeslty HORRIBLE. But it still soudns great with the DNX. I need more cash. i jsut spent 10 grand on production stuff so im a bit behind lmao.
