Arent white lables exempt from copyright laws? Like not having to ghive credit for using sources/samples of music?
If I got one, I would be doing exactly that, getting MP3z of vinyl that cant be found(like cloudwalking) and 'burning' it. I wouldnt stop buying records, just stop searching for the ones that arent being pressed anymore.
But for 10 000, I also think I should be able to find those 5-10 records that I am lookinf for.

So lets say hypothetically that I was a legitimate famous DJ, that pays my dues to the labels for all the songs I spin. I've been hunting for years for a vinyl copy of a particular song so I can include it in my sets but there simply aren't any in existence. I go and grab an MP3 version of the song, cut a copy of it with one of these vinyl machines, play it in my set and pay for doing so, i.e. I send my money off to the appropriate record label just like I do with all my other records I spin. Am I still breaking the law?

I would like nothing more than not to get back into this whole copyright infringement bollox, but I feel I have to.
If you're spinning at your average club or party as a small time DJ - no-one gives a fuck what you spin. If someone questions you, just tell them that you were given the track, but in fairness, I've never heard of anyone being so much as questioned. Clubs are rarely checked for copyright as the DJs bring their own records, and if it's unlabeled, it may aswell be any track you want.
If you're a big DJ spinning onto albums and in big clubs, you're pretty much going to get given every vinyl you'll ever need, so no probs there then
Hope that clears up any worries you may have.
Now bring on that fucking vinyl recorder cos I want to burn all of my illegal records!!

Yeah Diablo, I know Tiesto and the boys don't pay for the actual physical purchase of their vinyls, but my question was whether they still have to submit their track lists to APRA and pay for the 'public broadcast' rights or whatever they call them?

DJs dont submit jack. If they get given a record, it's theirs, the copyright was transferred when they were given it.
If the track is a rare bootleg, they just call it 'unknown' until they can justify its use, and even then, they don't really care.
When was the last time you heard of a DJ being done for copyright fraud or playing illegally? Back during the 80's when all the illegal raves were going on, but still - no copyright probs then!

i wouldnt buy the recording machine... and even if i had access to one, i wouldnt use it... i like searching for those old records u cant find anymore, cuz when u find it and spend that extra 20-30 bucks for the record, youre that much happier and you enjoy even more what youre doing... so no, i wouldnt use it

thats cool mate, but when you've got a zillion MP3s that you'd really like on vinyl, that 20-30 bucks kinda adds up quickly

dude, i've got like 2000 mp3s... all full vinyl rips... and i dont download them cuz i wanna record them onto vinyl/cds and spin them, i download them so i know what to buy... plus burning vinyl and buying is gonna come to the same price... 10$ for blank record plus a few bucks to pay someone to record it for you... i'd rather have the original... ehm, its just me i guess
