Malek, how'd you manage that without a tripod? Were you using the Canon IS lens? Cause those look super sharp!

By the way while we're on the topic, what do you think of the of the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Autofocus lens? I'm going to NYC in a month and I know a place where they sell it cheap...I've read som great reviews but you're the photo man

It really depends on what you planning on shooting, its not the ideal lense for clubs and its not that wide ( i love wides ).

But it has a great zoom nonetheless and IS helps alot.

are you going to B&H in NY?

Yep that's the one, they have some great prices on their websites. In terms on what I'm planning on shooting - I'm looking for more of a general lens to replace the 18-55mm that came with the rebel kit. I'm not planning on doing any club photography with it, more of a walkaround lens with a better range and quality. Either way I can't really spend too much at this time so if you have any other suggestions for this price range it'll be highly appreciated.

Thanks Malek I'll investigate ....by the way (since I'm still leaning) how do you tell which ones are wider? (lower mm = wider?)

Isn't that Charest's office building? I'm unsure, but if it is his office building, that evil smoke around it looks brilliant. hehehe

yes of course.

you can see what would the 28mm give on your camera by zooming your 18-55 lense to about half (maybe theres a marker at the 28 point).

At 17mm, you would get a bit of a wider image than your 18-55 at the 18mm marker.

a wide lense is very useful for the shots you saw in this thread.
