You should have been there for the warm up - that was really good. I left about 30 minutes into Ben Long's set, when I got fed up with his scratching and samples ("in the mix!" is only cool the first ten times you hear it). But he definately wasn't playing gabba when I was there.
Thursday two weeks ago I heard the last DJ of the evening, and he was playing fairly hard fast techno, and I think he was finishing up last thursday as well. Maybe he was the one you heard?
