Oh my god The Cure! I'm by no means an expert but I bought the Greatest Hits album and every song on there is great! The lovecats is my favourite song, as well as Boys Don't Cry

The first I really heard of the cure was when I was sat in someones care and "Mixed Up" mwas playing. I had to go and buy the album, and it's still one of my most played albums even now.

I believe they have a track called "Someday" or something. Great track. My favorite of them.

ahhh The Cure-great band. These guys together with joy division(yes this is the one and same band as new order only with one singer more-the eccentric lead-man ian curtis and his avant-garde artistic contributions), bauhaus, sisters of mercy and siousxie and the banshees were the creators of the "goth" movement although neither of these groups ever considered themselves as being part of the current scene. Greater albums by the cure are in my opinion the more 80s darkwave/newwave ones like "faith", "pornography" and "disintegration" and generallty their 80s period. Also great tune is "charlotte sometimes" which was never featured in any album. If you like the cure i strongly suggest the following albums..

The Chameleons-"strange times" (fantastic album-largelly underrated-synth lead lines-layer of melodic delayed quitars and existential lyrics!))
Joy Division-"Closer" (very sad but good)
Simple Minds-"new gold dream" (sound like joy division's optimistic twin)
OMD-"Architecture and Morality" (great synth-pop)
Cocteau Twins-"treasure"(album title says it all-from the creators of the"shoegazer" genre/movement buy everything from these guys).
Echo and The Bunnymen-"ocean rain" (Orchestral new-wave-brilliant)
Siouxssie and the Banshees- "a Kiss in the dreamhouse" (their most avant-garde and dark album and another personal favourite)
Clan of Xymox-"Medusa" (an epic and layered synth-driven gem. Absolutely fantastic synth-driven melodies and reverbed quitar-lines)
and for the more adventurous...
Dead Can Dance-"their first four albums!!!!"(although not directly related to the cure their music is highly artistic-pure quality here)
