Well maybe it was the older version of your guide that I was thinking of from a few years ago.

progressive house stay a bit melodic, but prog electro is no more melodic, except some tunes.

It's definitely not as melodic as trance, but it makes up for that with more focus on basslines the sounds around it to make a good vibe.
