sure plasma TV's are great and so on but its NEW just like these newer Turntables, these "new" tv's are crapping out just like the "new" turntables... Technics are time tested and IF ITS NOT BROKEN why fix it? if it works then why change it... thats my stance... but it seems as though a lot of people just want some flashy crap they dont need...

but yes iv used the TT200's they will suit you just fine for a few years, but i still would advise upgrading to Tech's when your ready... i understand it really boils down to moeny... and you really wanted to get into as soon as possible... so be happy with what you got

dino this is the first time i've seen you crap your pants about something

for the money, numark tt-200s will be just right for any beginner. if you don't got the cash to drop on tech's (which most people don't) then pretty much any direct drive turntable will suit you well. congrats on the purchase.

like i said, they havent proven them selves yet becuase they havent gotten the time yet to do so.

its just that technics hasnt done ANYTHING to improve its 1200 MK2. such as the irritating click at 0% pitch and the pop up light which breaks really quickly in most cases. Sure you will say, pop up light, who gives a shit but still 25 years time to fix this small thing and they havent.

im not really aware of any flashy crap you wont ever need on the turntable i have, or it has to be the reverse button.

this was in no way a personal attack to dino in anyway. I just got sick of the many people saying: get techs or else ure crap. Its probably because i dont understand why people choose for technics. There is a better (reliability set a side) and cheaper option. (in holland there is at least)

I guess the M3D/MK5 didn't address those issues?

i have the old stanton str8-100's and there one solid deck, not one problem. but, then again... stantons are not that cheap.. only reason why i got them are couse i knew a guy that got me one heck of a deal and i saved so much money. i would have got technics, but i had a steal of a deal. but, dino is right... technics are in all clubs. why not start with them?

the tt-200's should be fine mate for the first few years of your dj'ing, it will only make you a better dj. how much money was your set up all together? i saw some great used gear with 2x technics and a dxm06 for $600 the other day with some great carts as well. now thats a steal!

Guy if you bought that mixer from electrocalgary you wasted $175 no offence.

for 125 dollars more you coulda went to long & mcquade and got yourself the behringer djx700 brand new. you don't know how scratchy the faders are or if the channels bleed... plus that's more of a studio mixer than a dj mixer.

if you can cancel the mixer buy i really would.
