Both have advantages. It all depends on the DJ and how he/she likes to work. To some, those advantages will make little or no difference.
Vinyls tend to have a better sound quality (as long as they're kept it very good shape). They also let you scratch (even though that's not particularly useful in trance). They also give some of that "old school" factor, etcetera.
Personally I prefer CDs because, firstly, they're lighter, smaller, cheaper, and simply more efficient at managing. When I get an album, I like to rip every track on it and then rearrange my collections differently. Sometimes I like to make small adjustments to tracks (ex- adding cymbals or drumrolls to fit a better mix). Sometimes I also like to burn my own productions on CDs - This allows me to skip the long process of creating a vinyl.
You'll find alot of fanatics who will tell you otherwise - but in the end it all just comes down to style and personal preference. They're just two different technologies.
