Re: Favourite Band?

Snow Patrol are great if you want a CD where the majority of the tracks have stupid lyrics ie. Spitting Games.

If I said to you, U2 was to rock, what Tiesto is to EDM, would it be trolling?

U2 rocked 3 albums ago, now it sounds like their children write their lyrics.

Matthew Good is one of my favourite artists.

No, but it would probably be one of the only posts in the history of TA where you might actually have a decent point to make for once.

U2 is like Tiesto, both are over the top, overhyped, past their best before date.

sure. you know them?
singer was formerly in Saosin. he bolted at a hotel before a tour started and formed Circa Survive.
they're opening for Dredg in their U.S. tour. they'll be in your area i think around the first week of June.
you probably knew all this.

alright:

Holding Someone's Hair Back
The Great Golden Baby
Juturna
Meet Me In Montauk

are probably my favourite

ps. if you didn't know this and do check them out, the singer is indeed a dude.

[edit:] Juturna & The Great Golden Baby are practically the same; album and pre-album versions
also, + Wish Resign, Act Appalled, We're All Thieves

two generations before (the 80s) :
pet shop boys
modern talking
new order
huey lewis and the news
genesis
wham!
culture club
garbage

the generation before (i should say 12 to 15 years ago) :

smashing pumpkins ( .. i still love their song 'mayonaise' .. saw them perform it live, it is awesome! .. and i still think 'melancholy and the infinite sadness' is one of the best rock albums ever!)
foo fighters
nirvana
red hot chilli peppers
backstreet boys, n sync, 98 degrees
soundgarden
metallica ( their early hits .. rocked )

today's generation :
staind
godsmack
black eyed peas
stereophonics
weekend players
linkin park

covered it all ???
