Being from Winnipeg I can say that the Native gangs are a bunch of scared little punks!! What ever happened to that days of one on one fighting?!?!? Now its like 20 on 1.. not worth carrying weapons really, unless you really know how to use the thing you have just as good a chance of getting it take away and used against YOU.

i say go for the insanity angle. jump around wildly and froth at the mouth screaming like an enraged chimpanzee and then start climbing whatever is nearby and throw pocket change at your attackers.

one of two things will happen.
1. they'll walk away either out of concern for their safety (unlikely) or just plain disgust (more likely).
2. they'll just kill you for the sake of humanity.

hey, your odds are at least 50/50 that you walk away with all your belongings in tact.



last time i walked in on a burglar in my house i ended up offering the bugger lunch and giving him $5. i got back all my cds the f#cker was going to try to hawk, and a detailed description of how he got in my house. then i let the bugger go and gave him a 20 minute head start before calling the cops as a formality.

I don't recommend trying to rob me.

I was 'mugged' about 3 years ago whilst getting into my car. There was fuck all I really could do about it as there were 2 of them, and I was attacked from behind. I use the term 'mugged' loosely because it was the most pathetic set of 'pats' i've ever endured in any fight in my life. They took a fair bit of money, but by pure chance I recognised one of them. Now have you ever seen Pulp Fiction where Vincent's car gets keyed and he says "it'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it." Anyway this is what sprung to mind, and to bring the story to a happy end I got my money back and they both got to experience a 'proper' mugging.

in texas if you have a liscence you can carry a concealed handgun....

ppl around here arent that bad tho to where youd need one...

I've never been mugged but when I looking after the house when my parents went away in summer '03 I woke up in the night and could have sworn blind we were being burgled. The adrenaline just kicks in and I grabbed a field hockey stick (aluminium one!) and was quite prepared to beat the fuck into anyone I came across. Luckily I didn't have to use it.

To be honest if I was mugged (and I am surprised it hasn't happened yet) I would be so reluctant to give everything over but even if there is one person how do you know he doesn't have a load of people waiting around the corner to kick the shit out of you (or worse) if you happen to overcome him/her. I am a useless ass with a weapon (wished I had inheritted good marksmanship from my father) so would probably be knocked out while trying to disarm the safety catch I'm just too weedy to take on legions of thugs, and besides I might scuff up my chinos in the process...

However there is a couple of amusing stories about people I know who have been mugged...a work colleague of my father is an ex-Paratrooper and was at an ATM in Glasgow, Soctland late one night. A guy with a knife approached him and held it to his throat asking to hand over all his money. The ex-Para grabbed the guys wrist and broke it, followed this by stabbing the guy with his own knife. No content with that he beat the guys head up and down on the cashpoint machine until the guy passed out. The chap then phoned 999 and said there was a guy at Natwest who'd had an accident. To be honest if I was hard enough I'd probably do the same. Criminals are scum.

The second one was a friend from halls of residence at Uni who was walking back from a night out at about 3am. Some guys jumped on him, not smart since he is 6ft 4" and went to trials for England rugby! Well he put down the kebab he was eating and proceeded to beat the crap out of these weedy little shits. Picked up his kebab and walked the remaining 100ft to the halls where we were still up drinking. Pete walked in a little pissed off and said he had ruined his kebab. We asked how and he told us that while fending off these pesky fools one of them had squashed corner of his box We looked out the window and saw a couple of kids lying on the sidewalk across the road...he seemed more concerned about his kebab than the fact two asshats had tried to kick the shit out of him!
