Hey, nice links. Thanks a lot! Now I just have to decide what to look for ... lol :-)

So then I should get a JP to have in the rack when it's time to make some retro style music in a few years... ;-)

I don't know much about Novation or Access Virus (or much of anything else for that matter). There seems to be many versions of the Virus (C, KB, KC, Indigo). I guess I'm too lazy for googling the specs... :-)

Some producers like Phynn or Arizona aka Tomas Bronzwaer use soft synths mand an Access Virus. The Virus has a really special sound, a little bit aggressive. Try the Virus C.

well we Own both at J&C studios we have jp8000 - 8080 and a virus kc the virus is great for the dark grittier sounds of trance, however the jp's are great for things other then the supersaw I mean you can make plucks , pads ,fx , etc etc the list goes on imho the 8080 is nicer because u dont have to fool with the space the 8080 takes up so its alot easier to work with.

But if everyone uses a Virus, won't that become overused too?

A few filters and good external reverbprocessing and you can make it sound like new.
I'm a JP-8k owner and I dig it. Vengeance's work is terrific for it.
