It does crash all the time. Sometimes during the boot...EEK!!!!

I hope I still could help..
That's exactly what happened to me, sometimes I didn't even make it to windows. Fortunately HDs are very cheap today, so even if you don't have an insurance it shouldn't be any problems buying a new one immediately.
Now, I hope you managed to back anything up...

actually, I just turned it off for now. (im on a different computer now) I hafta go buy some CDs, then burn em... Until then, the puter will sit in silence
