I support those who want to define themselves by brand names. It only makes it easier for me to find the real people standing next to them in a crowd. Don't get my wrong...I am no hippy and I do love clothes and nice things as much as the next person and do treat myself to those when I can afford it. However, in my experience, people who focus most of their time and energy on how they look, what car they drive, what size house they live in and what brand names they are wearing rarely have much time left for the things that really matter in their life. Kind of sad really. I definitely don't believe that clothes make the man or women. What kind of person they are does. My issue lies with those who spend their energy defining themselves by how they look when it is their character that really needs the attention.

i think buying something because you think you will achieve some sort of superior social status because of it is ridiculous. money doesn't buy style, or class, for that matter.

i will rant on LV again! has anyone actually looked at the bags? cos they're butt fucking ugly. and there is such a proliferation of so called "status items" around with fakes and such that they've lost any status they ever had.

i dunno. i think it's fucking ridiculous. buy it cos you really like it. sadly, most people buy these things cos they are status items. and going into massive debt to buy these things just makes you look like stupid. cookie cutter people with no minds of their own = BORING.

Everyone's got their own unique look... Some people hate wearing something everyone else (or anyone else) wears. So there are two places to look. 1. You can start hitting up Queen ST. West, or if you aren't one to sift through racks of clothing looking for THE one you can look to the top. If you look hard at the very edge of clothing, electronics, sunglasses etc... you'll find some amazing stuff that's almost guaranteed to be worn by no one. Prime example is my buddy with Oakley Wardens. He's lucky and his brother is an Oakley rep but those aviators look sweet and they aren't coming out till 2006. Same reason why I love my Dartboards, cuz no one else (barring one 40 year old asian guy I met once) has them. I'm also a stickler for extreme attention to detail and quality of finish. So while Le Chateau & H&M have some interesting shirts, Harry Rosen is still where I'll be shopping

on a final note, if you don't care about this kind of stuff why would you bother posting here? It only empowers those who do
