They were more fanatic than your average catholic albeit in a good way. Very rarely you will see a group of Christians intentionally getting together to slur hate at another group, to maim, kill, or destroy in a retaliatory act.

Every religion has its fanatics that can be pursuaded to resort to violence (look at your fucking government for an example of Christian fanatics killing people) You think if the boot were on the other foot the American Christians would react any differently? If you do you are even more dillusioned than you appear to be right now...

I don't disagree that there are good Muslims. However do you honestly think if Newsweek reported that an Iraqi soldier flushed a bible down the toilet millions of Christians would revolt, kill each other, burn down buildings, cars, burn flags, and chant hate speeches?

I believe even you made reference to the fact that they are just looking for excuses (and I know I did)

FFS are you totally incapable of putting this into context?

And not only that, who exactly was doing the killing?! The fucking Afghan authorities - not these "fanatics"

Jesus sometimes I fucking do dispair

Right so Christians under occupation from another civilisation would show no opposition even in the face of provocation and (what they were led to believe, true or not) desecration of their culture?

What fucking planet are on?!

And why dont you think Christians would react like that if they were under occupation to a foreign civilisation they did not want to be occupied by?

I can give you a list as long as my arm where Christian people have protested against an occupier (Northern Ireland and Palestine spring to mind immediately)

But thats the thing I dont think you understand - these people protested, and the Afghan authorities shot them

Now I'm confused as to what your point is?

That Chrisitians would not protest? Or that Chrisitan cultures would not shoot protesters/rioters? Cos your wrong on both counts aren't you?

I said aren't you?

Well I'd say it is a level above US troops being in Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and South Korea. They were all a direct result of a war and US forces have stayed as a peacekeeping force. Eventually as in the case with Saudi Arabia and now South Korea and Germany our forces are leaving or when the host country doesn't want our forces there any longer. US troops leaving Afghanistan and Iraq would cause more harm than good I think in terms of a resorting to all out lawlessness.

most definitely. Iraqs prime minister has even said he wants the troops to stay for at least another 2 years. all this "bring our troops home" carry on quite misunderstands the problem. and all these mothers of troops are even worse...you dont wnat to be in a war...dont join the army..pretty simple concept here.

anyway, as to what you said earlier about would Christians react differebtly if it was a Bible flushed down a toliet...well maybe they would..but do you think it would attract the same media attention? probably not.

I'll say it again...

You have to put it in context. This story is very convienient for those wanting to portray Muslims as evil terrorists, and if we heard that someone flushed a Bible down the toilet I'm sure people wouldn't riot. But that is comparing apples with oranges.

If we were under occupation from an enemy that is seen as bent on destroying and conquering Christianity, and then they flushed a Bible down the tiolet there would almost certainly be riots

And as for riots over noting...what about our country? We have riots when England lose a football match, as do every other nation in Europe...what does that tell you about us?
