No, no, you got the mixed up, the bass is much louder, punchier and "full" in the px100, just like all other frequencies. The px200 have, due to the closedness, a much more "plastic" sound.

I love my shure E3s. Those buds are amazingly crisp, worth every penny and then some. My thoughts are if you're gonna spend any money on earphones, spend enough to get something you'll be happy with for years. The earphones are so good that it's obvious to me which mp3s were encoded at 128k, and which ones I encoded from albums at 384k...
I hear things I never even knew existed in a song....
