I personally wouldn't reccomend M-Audio. They are ok if you want a cheap budget card, but they use cheaper parts to cards such as RME, ECHO, and MOTU etc. It is like comparing a behringer mixing desk to a Mackie desk

i would by an 600£ sound card if i knew that it is stabil...at the moment i tested UAD-20,EMU 1820 and sound blaster...and none of them worked smooth.i want a sound card that can help me out with my work...when my project it is quite loaded with audio tracks i get a lot of clicks and the CPU meter si running from 60% to 90% unstabil.because i have to switch the latency values all the time to listen to my projects i got delays when applying TC POWERCORE plugins to audio tracks...and that happend only when my project is full...at the moment i'm stuck with an 5 min tune that i cant f**** finish.so what i'm asking is an audio card with 2 audio inputs and 1 midi and very stabil ASIO drivers.

THANX

sound card

Hi there. I'm a happy user of RME multiface. I've been using it for over a year, after ditching my M-audio delta 66. All I can say is that RME is plug it in, and forget. I never had any problems with the card at all, and I use it 2++ hours a day. Everyday almost.. The drivers are rock solid, sound is great, I can't complain. I run cubase sx with a TC Powercore + some hardware synths, and never had any problems. Latency is low. and it's stable. One thing I noticed after fiew months running this card: I never warry about my soundcard anymore, it alvays works. I would like to add that I convinced 2 of my friends to try RME and they never went back.. They are really happy and thankefull that they got rock solid sound cards in their systems.. But I don't have to tell you that, Just read about RME on diefferent forums, and you'll notice that they have a great reputation, and rock solid performance/drivers.

Here is a link to the one I use.
The Multiface can be used with laptops as well as desktop computers. The connection to notebooks is achieved via a CardBus card, the connection to desktops via a PCI card.

What about the Creamware Luna II? 3 Onboard DSPs and not as pricey as the powercore. If I was going to go nuts on a soundcard, this would tempt me.

tcpowercore is so famous especially because of the reverbs and the VIRUS.i choosed powercore element not because of the price, colour or length but because of the quality of the plugins.it seems that my system is not stabil because of my sound card EMU wich i found later it is nr1 for troubleshootings and voted probally in the future BEST CARD - WORST DRIVERS AND SUPPORT.

I find this kind of funny though, the latest EMU cards got so much great reviews, and everyone jumped on them, One of the reason was the Pro Tools converters I guess + a good price. But a friend of my works at a local music store in the synth/audio recording department and he said that they sell a large number of those cards every month. This is good I guess for EMU, but now here comes the bad part. He said that over half of the customers come back to the store with driver related problems and stuff. Something everyone wants to avoid I guess. I am sure there are people who have no problems at all with them, but It seems that the drivers needs to be fixed. Not everyone wants to be the beta tester for them.

Niceone =) Powercore is top of the pops if you can shell out the hard earned for it.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your purchase
