for those who helped thank you most of the songs you told me to get are fantastic and just what im after. for those who didnt... if you looked at a previous reply, this style of music is hard to define. listen to the songs and give me a label i can use. my opinion of progresive trance is such that it starts simple - drums n bass - with a simple melody, builds on all of that, then the melody takes over. although progressive is a broad term, i narrowed it down my adding in more words after it, i was tryin to get a little help from a few people, and i was trying to make it easy for you guys to understand what i was after (filtering out irrelevant search results if u must). if my OPINION is not the same as yours then there is no need to patronise me, once again it is a hard genre to define so i would gladly accept any names for the genre of music i posted earlier.

I think you mean "hardtrance"..

And I agree, try things like Alphazone, Dumonde, maybe some older S.H.O.K.K. and Cosmic Gate tunes..

Good luck..

I have a distinct feeling that you don't know what "progressive" means either.

Hey mate, try stuff by Nu NRG. They have a similarish style to alphazone, but Nu NRG are very melodic.

Try:

Nu NRG - Free Fall
- Dreamland
- Aloa P
- Butterfly

Hope that helps!

Don't let all these flamers get to ya mate, a lot of people here think they know everything about music, but I bet a lot of them wouldnt even know what a bar is.

Get the point? My new youngling. Before you use a word as broad as progressive, first learn its meaning in correlation to the music and then you can talk about progressive. Im sorry but none of that music you posted is progressive.

Im not saying that he is correct in his definition of prog but just out of curiosity what would be yours? In your opinion what tracks are more or less genre defining?
