With Saddam gone, the focus of the muslim world turned to Iran.
Yes, if Iran had nukes to counter the Israelis, then both will be annihilated. But it is a much better solution than Israelis annnhilating them alone.
When India got nukes, Pakistan decided they wanted their own too.
