Damn some of you guys make cops out to be some murderous, hate-driven, violence hungry animals just LOOKING for the opportunity to kill another human being... gimme a fucking break... they did exactly what they needed to do to stop a situation that threatened FAR too many innocent lives...

Pretty far from the cops? I suppose they should have waited for him to get close enough to stab them before shooting? Idiot.

And as for the extra shots - officers are trained to shoot more than once to ensure their target is stopped. Simple protocol.

And what's to say that the guy won't try and throw the knife at one of the cops if he doesn't go down from one or two shots?

cops were in the right....dead was dead wrong...


its a weapon, and they were defending them selves....you tell me if you had a guy with a weapon after a high speed prusit that would go, that you would be able to think about tazing him, pr using your pepper spray.

Its funny how some are so judgemental of cops when something like this happens. But when something bad happens, who do they call?....the cops...

next time you're in trouble don't call 911, just deal with it on your own....since some of you critics seem to know so much more on how to handle extrem situations.

Ok, none of you seem to know how deadly a knife is. I am an Army MP. We watched this video in our officer safty class. If someone pulls a knife within 21 feet of me and charges me, i do not have the reaction time to pull my m9 pistol and fire at him before he sticks me. Granted, the troopers had an advantage - their weapons were drawn and at condition red (round chambered, safety off), but still. That could have been VERY bad if they didnt drop the guy.

Whoever mentioned protocol on the extra shots? DAMN SKIPPY. Especially with a weak 9mm (like the berettas we use), you often need 2 or 3 shots to stop the assailant.
