oh ... regarding creative .. nowt wrong with creative if you have one but i hope you wont spend 100 or so to buy one as an upgrade.

Why ?

a) latency problems

b) quanitization problems ... most creative cards using EMU chips are internally set to render at fixed sampling rates and use smokescreens and other forms of magic to overcome this. If you dont belive me then do a search at sospubs.co.uk

Any chance you could elaborate? I'd like to know specifics of personal experiences, since I'm looking to buy one myself...

I've been with Creative for the longest time now, and just started looking at M-Audio cards and thought the Audiophiles looked pretty good. This wouldn't be for my main DAW, it would be for another PC that I'm going to set up as a "plugin farm", so basically all I need is a decent ASIO driver, low noise and an optical (ADAT or S/PDIF are both fine) output.

MOTU looks to be a little out of my price range; have people had better experiences with the Audigy or the Audiophiles?quote:

I just wanna add, I got an M-audio delta 66 laying in a box, got my self an RME multiface, never going back to M-audio. M-audio It's not bad but RME is on another level when it comes to sound quality/driver stability.. People wil alvays say their m-audio cards is great, cause it works.. And I understand that, but untill you tried something alse, don't bash my comment. It really depends in the end how much money you wanna spend..

Motu is nice as well. but I know there is one card I will not buy, it's the new EMU cards.. If you decide to get one of thease, make sure you can return it, since they have some driver problems and a lot of people have hardware compatybility problems, basically the sound card don't like your motherboard or other hardware in your machine .. And this is something I know for a fact.. Just look around forums, and stuff.. I have a friend who works at a local music store and he told me to stay avay.. they sell shit load of them but a lot of people come back crying they have major problems.. so just test it out on your system, or make sure you have the option of returnin it if it's not working properly..

You can eaven ask one of tranceaddict forums users, TANKPROJECT he recently got rid of his EMU, and his problems as well.. and went with RME ..

good day...

Review Latest Track; Charlie Delta - Then The Days Where Long

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

I have one of these Wim but I can't get on with it! I suffer latency problems, especially when running 3 instances of Superwave Proformer! Besides I have no XLR connectors to plug my Behringer Truths into! I am looking at the M-Audio 1010LT at present!

i have a creative audigy and i suffer massive latency problems. Im currently looking at either the m-audio audiophile192 or delta1010lt. are these good cards or not, because ive heard mainly good things about them? and as for m-audio having bad drivers, they say that their speciality is thier rock solid drivers.

peace
