different models, with a few different features. the 800's have the loop buttons, where as the 1000's have hot cues instead. the feel and accuracy of the 1000's though is a lot better.

This is really what I'm looking for. The 1000s are made of more metal too right? Not so much plastic? I'd rather pay an extra couple hundred bucks for a better feel! That's why I was considering the Techs...... but my option seems very clear now.

the 1000's feel much better, but i am unsure what you mean about plastic versus metal. get the 1000mk2, you won't regret it

Yeah I thought I was going to regret selling my tech because I was so used to it but within 2 days I adjusted to the pioneer's and won't look back. The direct drive active platter on the tech's was nice but it doesnt feel like a regular 1200 like they advertise. It feels like a badly warped record...very slippery.

I'd stick with the techs. Nothing really wrong with them if you're not scratching with pitch lock on, and I think they're cheaper

IMO cdj 1000's suck compared to other decks. Just sold way above price because pioneer knows they can get the money by being the first club standard.

in my opinion the only ones that will compare with the cdj 1000mk2 are the denon dns 5000...which have a load of features and toy like buttons on them...

I personally prefer the CDJ1000s above the rest, but the Denons are a very close second. Both quality decks and you can't fault them.

I find the Technics a little cumbersome but probably because I am used to the Pioneers.

With regards to the 800 vs 1000, I find the 1000 a whole lot better in terms of overall feel. The 800's jog will is just a little too plastic for my liking with a lack of resistance. Personal preference mind you.

There are some very nice things you can do with a memory card and saved loops etc. Worth it in my opinion.

Cheers
Nem

I've used both. They're both big hunks of plastic. The CDJ 1000's have *plastic* buttons. They scratch and break easier than the rubber ones on the s5000. Nothing more than the CDJ 1000's buttons . Funny that you can make up something that small to put down the deck to someone because you suck on Pioneer' dick.

Yeah I love it how anyone who has Pioneers recommends them just because everyone else has them or they are the industry standard. They are the most featureless decks and yet still the most expensive.

I wouldnt part with my S5000's for shit. The rubber buttons on them are great especially when your trying to pitch bend. You can get a lot of travel in them and as a result feel very tactile.

Yes, they have more features and are more complex, but learn to mix on these and you can pick up the idiot proof Pioneers within 15 minutes. Shit, I'm not even going to go on about the features cos its embaressing to Pioneer owners.
