Hm... where to start?
Got to the Guvernment about 11pm. By 11:30 I was inside, which was pretty damn quick if you ask me (especially considering I waited in the wrong line at first. >_<). Plus, only paid $15 even though I didn't get in before 11, small thing, but nice nevertheless. And for $15, the evening was money well-spent.
Deko-Ze:
When I got in, he was already spinning, and he did an awesome job of warming the crowd up. At this point, Kool Haus was still half empty, so that was kinda nice. He dropped a few nice tracks, but my favourite track would definitely be 'Rachael Starr - Till There Was You'. The beat + lyrics were just awesome.
Infected Mushroom:
By 1:30am, the place was packed, and holy shit are those guys awesome. This is the first time I've seen them, and I have to say their set was more of a live performance rather than two DJ's spinning. I totally didn't expect one to be playing electric guitar live, adding tot he beat quite masterfully I must add. And shit, if playing a guitar live surprised me, when the second guy started singing live, my eyes nearly popped out. All in all, the mix of singing, guitars and the psy-trance beat was just fucking awesome. The 90% humidity + heat + huuuge crowd was starting to show - I have never sweated that much in my life EVER. Sweat was literally dripping off my forehear, chin, and every other place I could think of. Whatever hairstyle I had was gone within an hour, as my hair was soaked in my (and I think a few others') sweat. BTW, I understand smoking is cool and all, but for the love of God people, do not fucking light up right in the middle of the dancefloor. If you're gonna smoke, go towards the entrance doors and smoke your ass off there. There was little oxygen on the dancefloor as it was, without you polluting the air with your fucking smoke. By 3:30, which is roughly the time they finished, I was already mildly tired.
Christopher Lawrence:
I must say, when the guy started spinning, I wasn't too much into it. Maybe I was tired, or dehydrated, or what, but I just wasn't feeling it too much. However, around 5am, the guy went absolutely insane, and so did I. One fucking awesome track after another. My feet were killing me, but I didn't give a shit, cause the music was pumping. I don't think I stopped moving until 5:45, at which time I felt like I was gonna collapse if I didn't sit down. I amde my way up to the lounge area, and just sat, chilled, and enjoyed the rest of his set, which finished at roughly 6:15. Track of the set definately goes to 'Robert Van Gelderen - Cold Storage'. When I first realised he was starting to play that track, I thought I was gonna lose my mind. Hell, this was prolly the track of the whole night, because it was just so friggin awesome.
P.S. There was one dude in a blue t-shirt, and blue satin sweatpants with two thcik white stripes running down the side, anyway, I dunno who he is, but his footwork was fuking incredible. Props to him.
P.P.S. Can't say that the water bottles was money well-spent though. Charging 4 bucks per bottle is just gouging the consumer, especially considering how hot and humid it was inside.
P.P.P.S Now I gotta decide between seeing Sasha at the Guv or Johan Gielen at Republik next weekend. Any suggestions?
