"Progressive" doesn't describe the sound of the music. Progressive house has nothing in common with progressive rock, but hard house has something in common with hard rock (they both sound "hard"). Progressive refers to the genre in relation to other genres. It's a new sound. A forward looking sound. A progressive sound! Any flashy new genre that doesn't sound very distinctive is progressive.

That progressive house and progressive trance are similar is nothing to do with that they have "progressive" in front of them, it's' because prog house was the British take on trance, before prog trance even existed.

i think your wrong man. i think progressive music is always progressive and will always be progressive. i mean listen to old school progressive and it still sounds amazing.
