crack them open under cold water. this is the only advice in terms of smelling as soon as you crack them open.

when you make your salad tho, add a bit of lemon juice. all smells are mostly amines (which are bases) and the acid from the lemon juice neutralizes the smells. same sort of idea why we put lemon on fish. put lemon on everything that smells.
