Yes I had this problem also when I first started using them. I did the same thing as you, lowered the burning speed to 1x. You will hear this around here alot, burn in the slowest speed your software allows you to. Since I have been doing that I have not had that problem.

doesnt relly matter.
I USE MEMOREX.
its the burning speed that makes the difference.
the slower you burn it the longer its gonna last.

ironically, my sony burner with sony cd-rs was the worst combination....there was increasing distortion that started around the 45 minute mark.

i use the cheesy verbatim vinyls you can still put lables on them if you want.

i've also had good luck with memorex, fujifilm and philips.

experiment

i've used a lot of different cd's djing between me and my friends.. the best i've found are maxell cd's. Memorex are decent, verbatim are really good too... HP suck, so do office depot, they're the 2 worst i've used.
just get a main brand like verbatim or maxell. If u have new equipment u prolly wont have any problems with them anyways.. but i got some old cdj decks that were from a club, ones a little messed and i get problems with the cheap cds.
burnin prog is important too..use nero.

Those of you that have the Nero software can test which brands of CD or DVD discs perform well and exhibit the fewest errors.
Pop in a recorded CD or DVD and go to Nero Toolkit-> Nero CD DVD speed-> Extra-> Disc Quality Test.
In My Liteon Drive, the Maxell CD and DVD perform very good.
