ewww. sorry, no The Killers & Franz Ferdinand should be shot (haha, go my puns!). Commercially acceptable "indie" is a tool of the devil.

Check out DNtels stuff. Its amazing. Gibbard actually vocalled on a few tracks.

Postal Service is ok, pretty poppy and catchy. Album came out a couple years ago now tho?

RE: Coldplay. just say NO. heheheh

hehe, i only started listening after the black album came out i thought reload was pretty terrible, but had 1-2 decent tracks on it. i actually quite liked load, since it proved that hetfield actually had a singing voice (tho hardly brilliant, certainly no maynard! but is lightyears above any of their other albums).

st anger just had nothing going for it at all. no decent solos, no modern metal rock sound (ala disturbed or tool) no singing. it was just garbage.

fave album: lightning.

all time fave song: fade to black.

^^ good choices. the full-length filmclip of one (with the old war movie clips in it) was f\'n ace. one would def be a contender for my 2nd fave.

worst song: toss up between \'fight fire with fire\' or \'damaged inc.\' (or every single song on st anger )

Sirius Isness - Breaking the Matrix.

This wicked Israeli Psy duo bash out some more amazingly clear and well produced psy. Similar in style to the full on party style psy of Talamasca, Psysex or GMS. Quite melodic in places, I wouldn't call this dark, so might not be for fans of the deeper more progressive style of psy. The production is great and there is an almost optimistic if not uplifting vibe to most of their tracks rather than the usual mind warping bollocks that you get from a lot of israeli psy. (...ok, ok.. you take a lot of drugs, we get it...)

Highlights include track 1 "Breaking the Matrix" and track 2 "I want Freedom". A godsend to listen to and even more fun to mix as the structure of most of the tracks is very forgivable of looping nad beat slicing. Very short buildups and breaks with a lot of funky insane synth stabs and riffs. Perfect if you have cd decks.

If your like me and sick of the same old psychedelic cliches in psy, and want some fresh new sounding trippy trance that doesnt take itself too seriously, then give this a listen...

4/5

Gorillaz - Demon Dayz

Got this album on the strength of their two most famous singels "Clint Eastwood" and "Feel Good Inc." which are fantastic tracks. I was very surprised to discover that the rest of the album was almost nothing like these.

Initially I was a bit dissapointed but I am starting to become a big fan of this album and really appreciate their unique style.

Fav Tracks (aside from the ones mentioned above):
El Manana
Fire Coming out of the Monkeys Head
Dare
Dirty Harry

found the exact opposite. Loved their self titled album, but after a while found i couldn't listen to clint eastwood or 19/2000 the same, due to massive overplay. sadly before i even got my legit copy of demon days, same thing was startin to happen with feel good inc. but despite that, fvckn top album. so well produced, and the collaborations on it are huge!

also NIN - with teeth.
such a welcome, head turning new edition from (a now sober) trent reznor. i expected a lot, and got a little more. Awesome to hear that he hasn't dropped any of the dark, despite a slight attitude adjustment.
cant wait to see them in august!!

me too dude!! i often think about what id do edm-wise with that song. and work out how to turn lots of notes into one note whilst still keeping the core of the melody (all-time fave intro that song has!) cant wait to have a proper fiddle with it it was my fave song for over 10 years.

Love Poundin' Sensation

I haven't picked up anything new recently, just listening to some old stuff:

Bjork - Greatest Hits
lovely. all my favourites on one cd
picked it up for $15 too!

Goldfrapp - Felt Mountain

her voice is sublime. and the version of 'let's get physical' on the special edition is the sex. she slows it righhhht downnn. very sensual. i always knew olivia's original had potential

Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt
I don't understand any swedish so I've got no clue what they're singing about, but hot damn, this band is fantastic! their sound is..hmm, the first word that comes to mind is 'authentic;' like i should be playing their music via wax and not mp3. they have this really 'big' sound, but nothing superfluous. and the vocals really compliment the tracks. but all of this really means nothing unless you go hear some of their songs...
