Voted P4, its been the best for me, remember different people need pc's for different things for me Intel r ok for others AMD are better.
In my experience AMD have never been that stable and kept crashing for no reason

i cant se how an AMD processor can crash as someone mentioned above. anyway... what the hells the point in having a p4 with the new SSE2 instructions when as far as i know, NO software takes advantage of this hardware. some more points to consider are that p4's process 2 instructions at a time and AMD's process 3, so the MHz comparison isnt a good guide. g4 processing from the mac is by far the most powerfull and proven! because it processes 64 bit instructions instead of the more common 32 bit ones, a lower MHz ratign is aaquired. This is good because no overheating needs to be catered for.
At the moment AMD have the market, but intel has the technology of the future, which isnt needed now. Mac's are just to incompatible. Intel Itanium processors are looking the biz especially with multi threading, but they only go up to 800MHz in UK as far as im aware of. an advantage tho is that quad processing is already capable witht he itanium. i.e. 4 x 800MHz. The decision is down to the individual, but whats the point of overpaying for a p4 at rip off prices and it cant even beat a cheaper processor (AMD XP) on sheer power. A true fact i read was.. an AMD ATHLON XP 1800+ (1.53GHz) can out perform a Intel p4 1.8GHz by up to 22% on business applications. have i said enough??? P4's are a waste of money for home computer users. might as well get a cyrix.

Gotta b AMD Athlon for home use IMO, and mine @ 1200mhz benchmarks similar to a p4 1.6, which is a helluva lot more expensive, no competition

U mean 2.4 Ghz ?
xp1800+ is 1.53Ghz chip .... I know quite a few overclockers and I've never heard of any xp going above 2Ghz, even watercooled and very high vcore settings etc.
What setup u got to get something like that ?
