It's normal maybe for Microsoft Word, but it's anything but normal for people in production, graphics, or development. Even the majority of web pages now are designed for 1024x768 or above. My production PC is 1280x1024 because it's got an LCD, my development PC at work is 1600x1200 - and no, I'm not saying this makes me "smarter" or "better" at either of these things, it's simply what's required for me to get things done at a reasonably efficient pace.

I don't know how you can do anything at all with 800x600 resolution - the typical school of thought with people in the above fields is that no matter how big your screen/resolution is, there is NEVER enough real estate. I'd get myself a second LCD monitor if I could afford one right now. Two screens are better than one.

Turn up your res. End of discussion.

P.S. Native Instruments' interfaces are hopeless no matter what resolution you use.

There is only one thing you can do really... get glasses (or if you already have glasses, get stronger ones) and use a higher resolution. 800x600 is NOT "normal size", it's only standard in Windows XP because it sets itself to the lowest possible resolution so it will work with any monitor out there. You're supposed to set it to whatever is best for your monitor later, normal options for a 17" would be 1024x768 (altho that's a bit low too), 1152x864 and 1280x960/1280x1024. That's the reason the synths won't fit, they're not designed to

I run my 17" monitors at 1280x1024 and my 21" at 1600x1200

Im very glad I asked this question...lol.. Like qiushiming
& buuren said I'll get used to it. And I have already. Immediately though it felt wrong. That's why I had to come and ask here because I felt like I was doing something the wrong way. Myabe there might have been another way to change the screen size or something. You have to realize that I've been working using that screen size for 3 years now LoL..so when I changed the screen size the fonts felt like they were on the other side of the room they were so small in comparison. But now I realize that if I go back to 800x600 it's gonna make me feel like I have downedsyndrome.

Thanx to everyone for your comments...they were absolutely helpful for me to read all of the extra info provided and just talk this topic through. Seems so simple but since I was using that default screen size for so long everytime I changed it I felt like I cant be doing this right. I love it now! What a difference!!!!

Wish I knew what Subtle was refering to about Native Instruments.

Definately, I have that resolution with that size of a monitor. Nothing beats it.
