its defintely an aquired taste and not for everyone. i have a friend who composes this kind of stuff and have seen live shows where they played this stuff with lights and video. it was a real awesome experience.

Yeah thats cool. In a way Trance is an aquired taste too, especially the instrumental stuff, so is Classical music. I mean the vast majority of people I know aren't used to Trance. I'm not really used to Classical, but some people just love it. So definitely it is all a matter of what someone is used to.

Personally, I've never liked Abstract and Experimental, but oh my, I absolutely love Minimal, especially Minimal Techno and Minimal Funk/House. Detroit Minimal techno makes me go

I like lots of kinds of music, but this compilation is too far out of my spectrum. Its not much minimal as it is abstract/experimental.
